The Ocean views and calmness of the place in a busy city like Galle was perfect for escaping the heat and crowd when you needed quiet time. The space in our room and facilities exceeded our expectations. It makes you feel like you are on an island by yourself considering all the noise and craziness in the city

The hotel is fantastically located, with a view of the old fort (not all rooms). Although we are two married men, we were asked if we would like to join the Valentines dinner on the lawn next to the sea. The woman manager who organized it was awesome, such an incredibly nice lady. She did it with her team and the whole diner was such a nice experience. The breakfasts and lunches were fantastic (Mr.Amila was responsible).

Stunningly beautiful property with picturesque views of the fort. Walking distance to train station and galle fort. The staff was excellent, true Sri Lankan hospitality at its best. They made me feel so special. They provide breakfast and dinner buffet and it was a perfect introduction to Sri Lankan cuisine. So delicious. Make sure you watch your portions! Small private beach area was lovely. Pool was perfect temp. My room was something out of a magazine. Bonus for the magical toilets with heated seats.

Le Grand Galle is an extraordinary architectural masterpiece that feels like stepping into a dreamland by the ocean. The soothing sound of the waves and the tranquil silence create a serene atmosphere, immersing you in the vast beauty of the sea. While the courteous staff are always ready to assist, the natural charm of the place alone is enough to captivate you. The food and facilities are truly first-class, adding to the unforgettable experience. I absolutely adore this place and will undoubtedly return.

The location was superb and a short walk to Galle fort. The pool area was nice with views of the Fort. The pool bar was good and the staff very attentive . The staff want to please you. Sachintha kept our room spotless and entertained us with his towel sculptures!

This was an excellent hotel in a great location. The gardens and pool were very good and the room was generally great. The staff were lovely providing very good and friendly service. The lunch menu and food was really good. The evening buffet was okay but not as brilliant as the rest of the hotel. The one comment would be the bed - there was a very cheap and nasty plastic mattress protector that was really uncomfortable and caused a lot of sweat; whilst the need for mattress protectors are understood there are much, much better ones available.

Hotel is in a great location right next to the fort. The room was very comfortable and the hotel overall was very pleasant, the building could probably have been bigger but would have impacted on the facilities. Staff were all very friendly and above all, we got no menacing calls to check-out on time.

Beautiful property, unbeatable location 5-10 min walk from Galle Fort, very decent pool size and great pool area. The room was really big, nice jacuzzi and view, good espresso machine otherwise not really standard for Sri Lanka
